We are delighted to tell you, following the recent disruption to cardiology referrals, that we will from October be working in partnership with HeartVets to provide a cardiology service again.
HeartVets is a specialist-led cardiology consultancy service for assessment and treatment of cardiorespiratory problems in veterinary patients, predominantly dogs, cats and horses.
The team of six cardiology clinicians and three referral nurses is led by Dr. Mark Patteson, Jo Harris and Dave Dickson who are all RCVS Recognised Specialists in cardiology. HeartVets are based at Vale Referrals in Dursley, Gloucestershire but now offer regular clinics in both multidisciplinary referral centres and first opinion veterinary practices throughout the south-west.
They will start on the 10th October, visiting Rosemullion every fortnight initially with a plan to build this up. They will also provide a consultancy service for us to initiate interim management of cardiology cases when they are not here; remotely interpreting the scans and Holter recordings that we have the skills and equipment to do on-site.
HeartVets will be laying on a free CPD event in January to get the opportunity to meet local vets. We’ll be in touch again soon with the date and topic. At this CPD they will also do an open question/answer session if you have any cases you’d like to discuss. We will provide pasties and wine and look forward to meeting you and showing you our other referrals services too.
